Breast Tomosynthesis

As the first Trust in the UK to trial and implement the use of tomosynthesis, we are a leading centre for this new and exciting field of breast imaging. This one-day course is aimed at radiologists and advanced practitioners who learn how to read and interpret tomosynthesis images.

Multidisciplinary Breast Assessment

A one-day course suitable for all members of the breast diagnosis team including surgeons, radiologists, radiographers, pathologists and nurse specialists. It covers recognition, work-up techniques and pathological correlation of mammographic abormalities.

A new two-day intensive refresher course for radiologists and advanced practitioners who want to update their skills.
Mammography Clinical attachments
Clinical attachments take place in King’s Breast Radiology Department. They are not training courses but are aimed at health professionals who want to learn more about the latest practices in breast radiology. They are open to UK and overseas applicants and placements may be limited to a maximum of two weeks, depending on capacity.
There are strict candidate requirements, so requests for attachments must be made as far in advance as possible to enable all procedures to be completed before the start date.

Mammography Clinical Update Training
Mammography Clinical Update Training is available either at King’s or at your own site. It offers one day of targeted practical mammography supervised by a clinical trainer who will tailor the event to suit your needs.

- Mammography Clinical Update Training at King’s, per participant: NHSBSP/Non-NHSBP standard fee £150
- Mammography Clinical Update Training at candidates’ own site, per visit: NHSBSP standard fee £300, Non-NHSBP standard fee £450
Training materials
Mammography DVD
Our mammography training DVD is intended primarily as a teaching and learning aid for radiographers and assistant practitioners at the start of their mammography careers. It is also a valuable CPD tool for established mammography practitioners and assistants.
The film covers standard mammography in as holistic a way as possible, including basic issues of communication and avoidance of musculo-skeletal strain in addition to positioning itself.
The DVD costs £50. To buy a copy, please contact our Training Coordinator. Cheques should be made payable to King’s College Hospital (Breast Screening Training Account), or let us know your purchase order number and to whom the invoice should be addressed. We will despatch the DVD as soon soon as we receive payment or a purchase order number.
