Student nursing and midwifery

King’s is a leading centre for three-year BSc (Hons) and two-year PG Dip pre-registration adult and child nursing and pre-registration midwifery training programmes. We offer the opportunity to learn and work alongside diverse multidisciplinary teams in one of London’s largest and busiest teaching Trusts.

We are a host Trust for student nurses and midwives from King’s College London Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery (KCL), London Southbank University (LSBU) and the University of Greenwich.

With a reputation for local, national and international excellence, our emphasis is on delivering new and innovative ways of working to provide superior, person-centred, evidence-based care for all our patients and mothers.

Clinical placements are agreed and planned by the Head of Nurse Education (KCH) and our partner University Placements Team. You may do your practice learning on placement at King’s College Hospital, Princess Royal University Hospital, Orpington Hospital, Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup, or Beckenham Beacon.

To help you to prepare for practice placements during your pre-registration programme, we have developed comprehensive learning resources. These include a range of Profile of Learning Opportunities (PoLO) packs.
